Gas Plant Operator
Gran Tierra Canada has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated full time contract operator in the North operating area. Working in a high-paced atmosphere, the primary responsibility of the successful individual will be to effectively participate as a team member by assisting in the operation and maintenance of our wells, gathering system, pressure vessels and facilities in a safe and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will work an 8 on 6 off shift, must be willing to work extra hours on occasion and be on call as required. Travel throughout the operating area will be required. This position will be based out of the Drayton Valley, Lodgepole area
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
· Assist in the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines and processing facilities and report any deficiencies or operational issues to the Production Foreman and Lead Operator.
· Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of refrigeration equipment and process facility.
· Daily production reporting utilizing Production Manager.
· Assist with environmental reporting initiatives as required.
· Keep all wells and facilities in a safe, clean and compliant condition and report all deficiencies to the Production Foreman and Lead Operator.
· Complete minor maintenance activities; pump repairs, packing changes, orifice plate inspections, well/facility inspections and other assorted tasks in an operator’s scope.
· Assist as required with new well startups and new pad commissioning.
· Consistently meet and strive to exceed Gran Tierra Canada expectations including Health & Safety Training, environment, regulatory, company policy, corporate values and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
· Ensure that all scheduled maintenance is completed on time.
Qualifications
· Oil and gas operating experience preferred but willing to train the right applicant.
· Experience with insert pumps, plunger lift, compression, refridge plant would be an asset.
· An asset to have knowledge in the responsibility of the safe and efficient operation of Refrigeration Equipment and Process Facility.
· Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Must have all applicable safety tickets.
· Possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in an unsupervised work environment.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong computer skills (proficient in MS Office Suite).
· Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license – drivers abstract is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00-$65.00 per hour
