Volunteer Enrollment Facilitator

BGC Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking individuals interested in the following position(s):
Competition Number: VEF0626 – Volunteer Enrollment Facilitator
Position(s) Available: One (1)
Status: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week) – 6 Month Term
Salary Range: $47,744 - $54,018 annually
The key responsibilities of this position will include:

Promoting volunteer opportunities through presentations, information sessions, community outreach activities, social media, and partnership engagement.

Guiding prospective volunteers through an enrollment process from initial inquiry to program/volunteer placement providing clear communication, timely follow-up, and personalized guidance.

Providing volunteers with accurate information and recommendations to help them make informed decisions about their involvement.

Conducting the enrolment process for all interested volunteer candidates that includes interviews, assessments reference and back ground checks to evaluate volunteer suitability, motivations, strengths, and interests.

Facilitating the placement of volunteers into mentoring and child/youth-serving programs based on program requirements, participant needs, and volunteer strengths.

Collaborating with program teams to ensure volunteer recruitment and placement efforts support agency priorities and service delivery goals.

Developing, coordinating, and delivering engaging volunteer orientation and training experiences that prepare volunteers for success in their roles including providing them with information on program expectations, child and youth safety, diversity and inclusion, mentoring practices, and agency standards.

Collaborating with internal teams to identify volunteer needs, coordinate placements, and strengthen volunteer recruitment and retention strategies.

Maintaining accurate volunteer records, assessment summaries, case notes, screening documentation, and program statistics in accordance with agency and national standards.

Utilizing technology and information systems to support volunteer enrollment, scheduling, communication, and reporting processes.
The successful candidate will have:

A diploma or degree in a related human service field with a focus on coursework that includes volunteer management, human resources, social work, human ecology or similar field.

A minimum of 3 years’ combined experience in a role involved with volunteers and/or employees, case management and/or volunteer management.

A solid understanding of child and youth issues and how healthy adults can make a difference.

Demonstrated good communication skills (written and oral).

Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

Ability to exercise good judgment and sound decision making.

Experience working with volunteers and an understanding of volunteer processes.

The ability to train groups of adults and previous experience with public speaking is an asset.

The ability to work 2 evenings per week.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle
