About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Buncher Operator to join our forestry operations team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating a feller buncher in rugged, off-highway environments and takes pride in efficient, clean production cutting in line with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a feller buncher to safely harvest and bunch timber for skidding
- Execute cut blocks according to layout and environmental regulations
- Maintain a clean and productive cut pattern to support skidder efficiency
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and log any issues
- Work in coordination with foremen, skidder operators, and truck drivers
- Operate in all weather conditions and challenging terrain
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating a feller buncher in active forestry operations
- Familiarity with steep slope and selective cutting techniques
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow environmental best practices
- Comfortable working in remote bush locations for extended shifts
- Valid driver’s license-Class 5 minimum
- First Aid or other relevant safety tickets are an asset
