We are searching for a full-time Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of support services to newcomer students and their parents in school settings, helping them successfully settle, integrate, and participate in their schools and communities.

Manage the overall delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program to ensure program objectives, funder requirements and expected outcomes are achieved.
Lead the planning and delivery of SWIS services across participating schools in collaboration with school administrators, school staff, SWIS Workers, partner agencies and other key stakeholders.
Oversee the effective implementation of the CCS SWIS program delivery model, ensuring appropriate school coverage, equitable service distribution, effective staff deployment and responsiveness to changing school and newcomer needs.

Oversee other support service initiatives, including mental wellness and short-term counselling.
Provide oversight and direction for school-based group activities, information sessions, workshops, summer programming and other initiatives that support newcomer students and families.
Develop and oversee outreach, promotional and engagement initiatives to increase awareness and uptake of SWIS services among newcomer students, families, schools and community partners.
Guide the use of digital outreach, online communication channels and social media to promote SWIS programs, activities, resources and key messages in alignment with CCS communications standards and organizational policies.
Oversee the accurate and timely use of OCMS and CCS internal Data Management Systems, ensuring program documentation and data meet organizational standards.
Liaise with CCS leadership, Program Managers, school board representatives, community organizations, funders, Steering and Advisory Committees, SWIS Managers and Coordinators from other settlement agencies, and regional SWIS initiatives and collaborative tables.
Represent CCS and the SWIS program at Steering Committee and Advisory Committee meetings, regional SWIS initiatives, school board, community, funder, sector and inter-agency planning tables as required.
Supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of the settlement team
Supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of project staff (e.g., summer students, student placements)
Determine staffing requirements based on current and future agency needs, identifying potential skill gaps, turnover, staff secondments and promotions
Participate on agency committees and special projects as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?

Social work degree, settlement counselling diploma or equivalent training in Human Services field

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in settlement and/or community work

Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and leading teams

Demonstrated experience in program management, staff supervision, service planning, facilitation and program evaluation

Strong knowledge of the Ontario education system, school board structures, school-based settlement services, and local community resources and services especially relevant to newcomer settlement

Strong knowledge and understanding of government settlement funding policies, priorities, and emerging trends.

Strong knowledge of and sensitivity to the settlement, employment, social, educational, and systemic issues and barriers experienced by newcomer students and families.

Experience working in a very diverse, multi-cultural workplace and a strong understanding of building and sustaining a successful, respectful, inclusive and productive work environment

Strong digital literacy, including proficiency with standard office applications, online communication platforms and the ability to support digital outreach and social media initiatives

Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car is an asset.

Location: Scarborough, ON
Compensation: $41.68 - $43.98 based on experience
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime is required
