Based in Calgary | Working wherever the job takes you (Alberta + beyond)
Refrigeration isn’t flashy… until everything’s failing and thousands of dollars are on the line.
That’s when you step in — or you get out of the way.
At Gateway Mechanical, we’re hiring Journeypersons and Apprentices who don’t freeze under pressure — the ones people call when it actually matters.
If you take pride in doing things properly (not just quickly), you’ll fit right in.
-
Around since 1968 — we’ve outlasted trends, fads, and bad techs
-
Western Canada’s largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider
-
40,000+ service calls a year — steady, real work
-
Built on long-tenured tradespeople who know their craft
-
Backed by serious technical support when things get complicated
Bottom line:
You’re not alone out there — but you’re also not babysat.
This isn’t “just service” or “just installs.”
It’s both — because real technicians can do both.
You’ll:
-
Bounce between service calls and project work
-
Handle breakdowns that can’t wait
-
Install systems that need to be done right the first time
-
Walk into problems with zero instructions… and figure them out anyway
One day you’re saving a grocery store from losing product.
Next day you’re building a system clean enough to show off.
Anyone can show up. Not everyone delivers.
When your project hits the mark, you earn more.
Safe. On time. On budget.
That’s the standard — and it pays.
You:
-
Don’t wait around for direction
-
Stay calm when things go sideways
-
Show up ready — not dragging in late
-
Speak clearly so your team doesn’t have to guess
-
Take safety seriously (no shortcuts, no excuses)
-
Know when to ask for help — and when to just get it done
-
