Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures tailored to construction activities and site conditions
- Provide ongoing safety training and guidance to construction teams, contractors, and visitors
- Investigate incidents and near-misses thoroughly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborate closely with construction managers to plan safe work practices and facilitate risk assessments
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation
- Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with teams regularly and encouraging proactive hazard reporting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction safety or related roles within the construction industry
- Familiarity with construction management software for tracking safety metrics and documentation
- Strong knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations or equivalent local standards
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train, influence, and collaborate with diverse teams
- Ability to identify hazards quickly and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Construction experience is essential; additional certifications such as OSHA 30-hour or equivalent are preferred
