Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Site Engineer/Inspector with expertise in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects with major civil, structural, mechanical and electrical components. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in site inspection and contract administration for major water/wastewater infrastructure projects, particularly within wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, and pumping stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
- Oversee the progress and quality of construction work at various project sites.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, engineers, and contractors to address challenges and maintain project timelines.
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and work with design team to resolve construction issues.
- Perform general contract administration tasks including chairing of construction meeting, verification of progress payments, RFIs, RFQs, contract change orders, assisting in dispute and claim resolutions.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to facilitate testing and commissioning.
- Address construction deficiencies and prepare project close-out documents.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in site inspection with expertise in:
- Major water and wastewater infrastructure projects with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems.
- Civil inspection projects, particularly involving site preparation, retaining walls, foundation, road paving, yard piping, watermain and sewer installation.
- Architectural/Structural inspection involving building construction, building envelop, painting and coating, roofing, reinforced concrete, metal structures.
- Mechanical inspection projects, particularly involving piping, valves, pumps, blowers.
- Major electrical projects, including substation construction, 27kVA/4160V transformer upgrades/design, high-voltage switchgear upgrades/design, standby power system, MCC/VFD, fiber/copper networking, and PLC/SCADA
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction contract documents, including general conditions, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure and project delivery procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with water/wastewater infrastructure and environmental regulations.
- Experience electrical systems, especially in high-voltage equipment, switchgear, generator control system, and PLC/SCADA systems will be considered a strong asset.
