Work hours: 40 hours per week.
Work location: Remote initially, on-site role across Greater Vancouver Area, BC after office setup.
Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing and optimizing the company’s local HR policy framework in Canada.
- Support daily operation and maintenance of the attendance management system, assist in polishing attendance rules, track execution status, and ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in daily employee relations work, participate in employee incident investigation, conflict mediation, policy interpretation and disciplinary procedure follow-up, and provide internal risk prevention suggestions.
- Keep track of updates to Canadian federal and provincial labor laws, assist in reviewing internal policies and daily operations to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Participate in end-to-end performance management processes, including goal alignment, performance review, calibration and PIP arrangement, to ensure standardized implementation across the organization.
- Optimize the overall onboarding and offboarding workflow, standardize documents and procedures, and continuously improve employee experience.
- Analyze HR key indicators such as turnover rate, attendance rate and employee relations trends, and deliver actionable insights to management.
- Serve as HRBP to provide professional HR consultation, procedural guidance and basic organizational structure advice for business teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Human Resources, Law or Business Administration is preferred.
- Bilingual (English & Mandarin) proficiency required for internal & external business communication.
- Hands-on experience with Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) implementation.
- Practical experience in HR policy drafting, revision or process optimization is preferred.
- 2 years of solid working experience in HR generalist or HRBP role, familiar with Canadian local HR practices is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial employment laws, capable of handling daily and medium-complexity compliance matters.
- Well-versed in full-spectrum HR modules including attendance, compensation & benefits, employee relations and performance management.
- Adaptable to startup working pace, capable of driving policy landing and process optimization steadily.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal influence and cross-department collaboration skills.
- CPHR certification or in-progress preparation is a plus.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada; Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident is required.
Pay: $50,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
