Established in 2007, QuartzCo is a leader in the Ontario stone installation and fabrication industry. With a continued focus on service and customer relationships, QuartzCo is growing rapidly and looking for team members who will help to support and grow our brand in the Ontario market.
As a CNC/Saw/Waterjet Operator you are responsible for operating the CNC Router, Saw and/or Waterjet Machine.
Night Shift operates different shifts between 3 PM to 6 AM. Shift time is flexible and is subject to change depending on business requirement.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Read, understand and execute production instructions.
- Operate the CNC Router, Saw (Formax/ Sprint/Venkon) and Water Jet machines (Flow/Easyline).
- Follow and maintain production timelines and update more ware with all the notes for each job.
- Pick up pieces of stone (manually and with overhead crane) to be polished, remove when complete and put on rolling cart
- Perform general duties involving physical handling of products, materials and supplies and basic machine adjustments and maintenance.
- Using appropriate tools and machine settings before running a program.
- Check for the slab/ remnants defects and size before loading into machine.
- Keep all the slabs/ remnant at a proper location after tagging it properly and updating the required information in slab smith.
- Cleaning the machine involves removing the fins, digging the machine bed, cleaning the drains, vacuuming the machine and keeping the workspace organized. Additionally, dumping all the stone garbage/leftover in stone bin.
- Keeping all the cut log up to date and mentioning all the notes on it regarding material issues, machine problems, programming issues, breaks, etc.
- Maintaining the water level by pumping the water into pit.
- Maintain company safety guidelines and practices.
- Performing Quality check and dimensions check on the pieces after completion of the program.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility is preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail, positive and professional attitude.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
- Ability to push, pull and move equipment and stone in excess of 50 lbs.
