Job Summary:
The Prep/Line Cook performs cooking related duties in relation to food preparation. The Prep/Line Cook identifies and retrieves ingredients from the freezers and other storage locations and is familiar with safe food handling techniques. Additionally, the Prep/Line Cook keeps the kitchen clean and ensures that the necessary tools, cutlery and appliance are in good working order. We will train on cooking the companies recipes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare meal ingredients for cooking, which includes washing, peeling, cutting and slicing ingredients
- Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments and cutting boards
- storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards
- Assisting other kitchen staff
- Preparing and packing meals and take-out orders
- Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in as a cook or chef
- Food handler's certificate (Preferred)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
