Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to oversee the quality assurance, commissioning, and diagnostics of HVAC installations. This role is crucial in ensuring our systems are installed to the highest standards, perform optimally, and meet all industry codes and best practices. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with extensive hands-on experience in residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance inspections on HVAC installations to verify compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
- Perform system commissioning, including airflow balancing, equipment calibration, and performance testing to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues, providing expert recommendations and corrective actions.
- Work closely with installation teams to provide guidance, training, and technical support.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes, manufacturer guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Document findings and generate reports on system performance and quality control measures.
- Assist in refining company installation procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Serve as a technical mentor for junior technicians, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, energy advisors, and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on advancements in HVAC technology, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Red Seal Certification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic or equivalent HVAC certification.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in residential and light commercial HVAC installations, diagnostics, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of heat pumps, ventilation systems, ductwork, and energy efficiency principles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as manometers, flow hoods, combustion analyzers, and thermal imaging cameras.
- Understanding of building science principles and how HVAC systems impact home performance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and mentor team members.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
