Purpose
To perform maintenance, repair, and construction duties as a Welder within the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team. To safely perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks to optimize equipment and system availability and to contribute to the performance of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team.
Accountabilities

Repair, adjust, fabricate and maintain process systems within Crushing and Concentration plant

Layout, fitting, cutting, welding, and fabricating

Follow OH&S, Mines Act, and Newcrest Red Chris Policies and Procedures
-
Able to work outdoors in severe conditions
-
Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
-
Able to work day or night shift as required
-
Provide mentorship and assist in training of apprentices
-
Required to work in maintenance management systems
-
Required to log information and create reports
-
Champion safe work practices
-
Assist other trades as required
Key Relationships

Work closely with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mill Operations teams to maintain reliability and availability of plant systems and equipment

Positive relationships and communications with multiple departments on site
Qualifiactions, Knowledge, and Experience
-
Interprovincial Red Seal Welder
-
CWB structural certifications an asset
-
Valid Class 5 drivers license required
-
Overhead crane, Aerial Work Platform, Rigging certificates are an asset
-
Fabricating experience an asset
-
Experience living and working in remote camp environment

A team player that works well with others

Strong oral and written communication skills

Safety orientated mindset
The expected salary range for this role is CA$$59.07/hr . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
