We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Lead on a 12-Month Contract basis.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Lead is a Registered Nurse and is responsible for providing scheduled and unscheduled, resident-oriented, goal-directed nursing care and related services in a Trico LivingWell community.
The Clinical Lead adheres to all related provincial/local acts, standards, regulatory health authorities, Trico LivingWell standards, guidelines, policies and procedures, and WELL Standards. The Clinical Lead must abide by their regulatory body’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Works as a member of the inter-professional team by maintaining effective communication and good interpersonal relationships with medical and allied health care members, residents, families, employees and other departments;
- Acts as a resource for questions and concerns regarding practices or health care issues;
- Completes and ensures resident’s care assessments, personalized health care plans, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date with changes communicated as required;
- Responds to and manages significant changes in resident’s condition and/or medical emergencies and provides emergency first aid as needed
- Responds to resident, family and visitor concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision making authority, and concern is reported to Director of Nursing, Executive Director and/or other departments;
- Coordinates emergency response in absence of Director of Nursing or Executive Director;
- Provides cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families;
- Participates in and/or leads the IP&C committee, OH&S committee, Fire and Safety Committee, Outbreak & Pandemic Committees, Immunization Clinics;
- Participates in mandatory ongoing training, in-services, and education;
- Participates in strategic planning, ad hoc projects and educational activities as assigned for the organization;
- Participates in the ongoing review of nursing care standards, policies and procedures
- Understands, adheres, and practices of the Health Information Act (HIA), Supportive Living Accommodations Standards (SLAS), Accreditation Standards, WELL Building Standards, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) and Protection of Persons in Care Act (PPCA), and Public Health Act (PHA) and all applicable Acts, Legislations, Regulations, and Standards;
- Understands and follows Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Job Requirements:
This position requires the Clinical Lead to be able to:
- Lift up to 40 pounds;
- Able to work in confined spaces;
- Push, pull wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds;
- Use both hands and feet on a regular basis to perform physical assisting duties;
- Bend, stoop, on a regular basis;
- Walk and stand on a variety of surfaces for at least 4 hours per day;
- Climb stairs, operate elevators, lift and move small equipment and furniture.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of recent experience in gerontology including relevant clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Current RN registration and good standing with CRNA with no restrictions;
- Valid CPR certification required;
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing an asset;
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; working cooperatively with others in a team environment;
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer focus skills;
- Basic computer proficiency and experience required;
- Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Screening;
