We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow using electronic medical records systems such as AVA and Netcare.
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally
- Collect patient information, update medical histories, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including billing and payment processing
- Maintain organized files and manage correspondence related to patient care
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, welcoming, and organized
- Record chief complaints, and measure vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Assist physicians with medical exams, minor in-office procedures, and translate instructions to patients.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Sterilize medical instruments, clean exam rooms, and maintain safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant preferred
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems in a busy office environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism
- Previous office experience in healthcare settings is highly desirable
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
