Summary
We are seeking an experienced Drywall/Taping Foreman to lead and manage a team of drywall installers and tapers. The ideal candiate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of drywall installation and finishing, and the ability to ensure high quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- English is required, but lots of us speak Polish or Ukrainian
- Able to run a crew and work as a team
- Lead and manage a crew of drywall installers and tapers on commercial and residential projects.
- Assign tasks and oversee the work to ensure it meets quality standards and residential projects.
- Follow blueprints or instructions to ensure accurate installation and finishing and ensure it is completed to a high standard.
- Order and manage materials, ensuring that supplies are available to avoid delays.
- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to cover walls, ceilings, and partitions.
- Prepare surfaces by removing old wallpaper or paint, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing them using appropriate tools
- Apply tape and joint compound to seams between drywall panels to create a smooth surface
- Sand and smooth seams, corners, and other surfaces to ensure a seamless appearance
- Apply caulk or sealant to fill gaps and cracks in walls or ceilings
- Repair or replace damaged drywall panels as needed
Experience
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Drywall/Taper or similar role in the construction industry, and 2+ years in a management role
- Excellent leadership and communcation skils
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding construction plans
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and materials
- Familiarity with carpentry tools and equipment used in the trade
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively
- Attention to detail and precision in measuring, cutting, and installing drywall panels
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing gaps and cracks
- Experience with construction painting is a plus
