Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing

Creative Food Brands is a growing poultry processing and food manufacturing company committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production equipment and facility.
This is not a desk-only role. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys working alongside their team, troubleshooting equipment, and driving continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Candidate Work Schedule = Monday - Friday 6am-3pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance department, including scheduling, training, and developing maintenance personnel.
- Provide hands-on support with troubleshooting and repairs when required.
- Maintain and improve preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and production machinery.
- Coordinate emergency repairs and respond quickly to production downtime issues.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize disruption to operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and work with suppliers and contractors as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety requirements, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings within the maintenance department.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and management teams to support plant objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food processing.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Electrical systems and controls
- Mechanical equipment and machinery
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes
- Preventative and predictive maintenance practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and PLC systems is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment and being available to support urgent operational needs.
- Industrial electrician, millwright, refrigeration, or other related trade certifications are considered an asset.
