Experienced Florist – Part-Time Contract Role
Blumen Florals is looking for two experienced florists to join our team as independent contractors on a part-time basis.
We’re a lively, creative flower, plant, and gift shop in Vancouver, known for our fresh, playful designs and ever-changing seasonal style. From daily bouquets to special events, we love bringing a little extra joy and colour into people’s lives—and we’re looking for florists who feel the same.
This is a contract role, so you’ll be working independently while collaborating with our small, friendly team in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment.
Position Details
- Part-time independent contractor role
- $20–$23 per hour, depending on experience
- Must have previous florist experience
- Must be available at least one weekend day
- Sunday availability is strongly preferred
- Start date: ASAP / flexible for the right person
What You’ll Be Doing
- Making gorgeous hand-tied bouquets and vase arrangements that feel fresh, seasonal, and very Blumen
- Turning buckets of flowers into the kind of designs people actually get excited to send
- Processing, conditioning, and caring for flowers so everything looks lush and lasts beautifully
- Helping with daily orders, walk-ins, delivery prep, and the usual flower shop chaos
- Keeping the workspace clean, organized, and not looking like a floral tornado hit it
- Jumping in during busy periods, holidays, events, and those classic “suddenly everyone needs flowers” moments
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has real hands-on florist experience and can confidently make bouquets without needing step-by-step direction
- Has a great eye for colour, texture, movement, and seasonal design
- Can work independently as a contractor while still being lovely to work alongside
- Is reliable, calm, organized, and not easily scared by a busy flower shop day
- Takes pride in making work that feels beautiful, thoughtful, and not cookie-cutter
- Enjoys being part of a small creative team with high standards and a good sense of humour
- Has weekend availability, with Sundays strongly preferred
Experience with weddings, events, plants, or retail floristry is a bonus—but most importantly, you love making beautiful things and can step into a busy shop with confidence and creativity.
