Overview of Position:
Cobra Mechanical is seeking a skilled Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and other mechanical equipment. This role requires the ability to diagnose system issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
This position will involve travel to job sites within Canada, including overnight stays. On an infrequent basis, you may be required to participate in a rotation of up to 21 days on and 7 days off, depending on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment.

Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, and drainage systems.

Perform checkout, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning/startup of a wide variety of mechanical equipment.

Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

Communicate clearly with customers about service findings, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations.

Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and parts usage.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Qualifications & Experience:

Red Seal Certification in Plumbing and/or HVAC/Refrigeration is required.

Experience servicing heating, cooling, and plumbing systems.

Ability to diagnose mechanical and system control issues.

Strong knowledge of all safety practices associated with the trade.

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills.

Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools associated with the trade.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Conditions
Travel: Requires travel to various locations as part of your regular duties. While most weeks will follow a standard 40-hour schedule, there may be occasions when travel is necessary, including overnight stays. On an infrequent basis, you may be required to participate in a rotation of up to 21 days on and 7 days off, depending on operational needs. Ability to lift 50+ lbs., required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours.
