A&D Child Care Centre & Out of School Care is seeking a dependable, organized, and passionate Cook to join our team. Our cook plays a vital role in supporting children's health and development by preparing nutritious meals and snacks in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon snacks for approximately 80–100 children each day.
- Follow Canada Food Guide recommendations and accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special nutritional requirements.
- Prepare rotating monthly menus that are nutritious, child-friendly, and cost-effective.
- Order groceries and kitchen supplies while managing inventory to minimize waste.
- Pick up groceries and kitchen supplies approximately once per week.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted meal preparation.
- Ensure the kitchen meets Alberta Health Services food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen at all times.
- Monitor and record food temperatures and complete all required food safety documentation.
- Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products.
- Work independently while managing daily meal preparation timelines.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding menu planning, inventory, and dietary needs.
- Assist with special events and celebrations requiring food preparation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, school, daycare, healthcare, or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Current Food Safe Certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safe food preparation practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to efficiently prepare meals for approximately 80–100 children daily while maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional reliability and attendance are essential. This position requires someone who is dependable and committed to reporting to work for every scheduled shift.
- Punctuality is a condition of employment. Meal preparation must begin on time each day to ensure meals and snacks are served according to schedule. Candidates must consistently arrive on time and be ready to work at the start of their shift.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must provide:
- Current Food Safe Certification
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search issued within the last 6 months
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle and be willing to use it to pick up groceries and kitchen supplies approximately once per week. Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
