Responsibilities:
- Perform Sanctions and Name Screening on SWIFT payments and account profiles to facilitate compliance with Sanctions and AML and ATF regulatory obligations.
- Provide a range of research, guidance, support and/or advice to branches and business units to ensure the AML/ATF and Sanction controls and processes are in effect to mitigate associated risks.
- Provide guidance to the business on day-to-day AML/ATF matters in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements, payments, regulatory reporting and industry standards that support sanctions, payments screening and due diligence, as well as the underlying policy and governance.
- Perform Sanction alert screening and investigations, supporting branches/business units during on-boarding and day to day through the back end screening to ensure customers are compliant and to provide recommendation where potential sanctions matters arise.
- Assist in completing any required regulatory reporting, such as LPEPR, OSFI 525 and 590 reports.
- Support the Business Units throughout the Bank on the submission of EFTR and LCTR, holding strong knowledge of FINTRAC requirements on both regulatory reporting types.
- Conduct skilled adverse media research, AML/ATF and Sanction risk assessments, reporting and/or analytical support in a timely manner.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert on Sanctions and Payments, as well as the underlying reporting.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent education and background in related field combined is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in the financial service industry as a Sanctions or AML Analyst
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience in AML Compliance, Sanctions, Payments and KYC
- A comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation, including FINTRAC
- Guidance, PCMLTFA, OSFI Guidance, Retail Payments Association Guidance and OFAC regulations
- Knowledge or experience in the search and review of adverse media.
Special Requirements:
Certification in a professional association such as ACAMS or ACFCS is considered an asset.
