About Crunch Time Basketball League
The Crunch Time Basketball League (CTBL) is a developmental youth house league focused on teaching the game the right way in a positive, competitive and supportive environment.
We are currently seeking experienced basketball players and coaches who are passionate about the game and interested in giving back to the next generation by volunteering as Head Coaches for our upcoming Fall Season.
This is a great opportunity for experienced players, former players, coaches, university/college students, teachers, or anyone with a strong basketball background who enjoys working with youth.
Divisions
Coaches will be assigned to one of three age/skill divisions:
- Beginners: Ages 9–10
- Intermediate: Ages 11–13
- Advanced: Ages 14–16
Weekly Format
Games are played every Saturday at All Saints CES in Markham.
Each weekly session is approximately 90 minutes and includes:
30-Minute Team Warm-Up & Preparation
1 Hour of Organized League Games
Head Coaches will lead their team's warm-up, provide instruction during games, manage substitutions and playing time, and help create a positive team environment throughout the season.
Head Coach Responsibilities
- Lead your team's weekly warm-up and game preparation
- Teach fundamental basketball concepts, teamwork and sportsmanship
- Manage player rotations and substitutions
- Provide positive instruction and feedback during games
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, officials and CTBL staff
- Promote fair play, effort, discipline and respect
- Serve as a positive role model for young athletes
- Help make basketball fun while maintaining a competitive and structured environment
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for individuals who:
- Have previous basketball playing and/or coaching experience
- Have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and team concepts
- Are confident leading and communicating with young athletes
- Are positive, energetic, dependable and professional
- Understand the importance of sportsmanship and player development
- Can commit to the 11-week Saturday season from September 26 through December 12
- Want to give back to the basketball community and make a positive impact on young athletes
Previous head coaching experience is an asset, but experienced basketball players interested in transitioning into coaching are strongly encouraged to apply.

It's also a great opportunity for aspiring coaches to gain real Head Coaching experience while working within an established youth basketball program.
