Reporting to the Director, Insurance this position plays an active role in assisting and providing input with the administration, development, analysis and management of the Corporation’s insurance programs.
What you will do:
Assists in gathering, compiling, analysis of, coordinating and preparation of insurance underwriting submission(s) to brokers for the Corporation's various insurance programs and individual placements
Manage and analyze records, data and reports.
Policy documentation and invoice administration and processing, including maintenance of well documented files
Accuracy and maintenance of vehicle listings (14,000+ vehicles), as well as ensuring that the broker issues and distributes insurance cards to the locations at time of renewal
The ongoing requests for insurance cards when new vehicles are ordered or changed out
Processing and maintaining inter-company coding, allocations in compliance with internal control parameters
Verify premium charges and process invoices, applying changes to appropriate cost center
Oversee that certificates of insurance, etc. are managed in a timely manner to ensure the business is not interrupted as a result of a legislative body shut-down caused by lack of accurate or required documentation
Management of evidence of insurance required by the vendors through memorandums of insurance or insurance certificates. Responsible to oversee that website(s) are updated at each renewal as well as maintain a listing of certificates that are requires. Responsible to oversee the prompt administrative work when automobile / license suspensions occur.
Assist in arrangement of property inspections and other internal risk management reviews, as required, to assure that adequate levels of risk controls are in place.
Deliver high quality internal customer service by responding promptly to requests and concerns;
Assist with claims as required
Maintain the claims reporting system with location or reporting changes.
Create and modify procedures, maintain up to date records, and documents related to the Corporate Insurance department.
Act as support in preparing reports and presentations to various senior committees.
Provision of back-up for other Analysts and Advisors in the department as required.
Provide assistance and advice to internal staff with respect to the contractual transfer of risk by analyzing and providing appropriate contract language for indemnification, risk transfer and insurance clauses for a variety of contracts, agreements, leases and other contracts as required.
Liaise with broking community as required
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, economics, finance, risk management and/or equivalent is required
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate finance environment or equivalent with relevant experience in insurance, legal and/or risk management industry is considered an asset
Enrolment in or completion of CRM, FRM, CIP and FCIP designation is considered an asset
Possess an aptitude for insurance processes
Above average PC skills in a Windows environment, Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, and Power Point are an asset
Previous experience working with risk management / claims database system (ie: Riskonnect) an asset
Ability to work in a diverse and ambiguous environment
Ability to work both independently and in a team, environment is considered a critical asset
A highly energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and is centered on providing quality information
Detail oriented and analytical
Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong conceptual and analytical skills and excellent time management skills and ability to multitask are required
High attention to detail
Knowledge of contracts and experience in managing contractual risks an asset
Capable of managing multiple competing priorities and are keen to work in a dynamic, global and cross-functional environment.
Resourceful, takes initiatives and works in a flexible, integer and efficient manner.
