Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of those affected by melanoma?

Strides for Melanoma Walk for Awareness is a national fundraising 5 km walk taking place in cities across Canada on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019. We are looking for our 'person on the ground' to help assist in the coordination of this year's walk in Rotary Park. Part time contract, 88 hours in total over up to 3 months. Must be available to work on Sunday, September 22nd and attend weekly status calls.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help coordinate signage and other items needed at the walk, registration activities, promoting Strides for Melanoma in your local community (posters, postcards, Twitter, Facebook, word-of-mouth, local papers)
  • Liaison for Melanoma Network of Canada (MNC) with regular communication, helping to recruit volunteers for day of event, assisting with recruiting local sponsorship partners
  • Participation in weekly status calls
  • Recruitment of participants and teams
  • Help set-up and take down any MNC materials needed the day of the event
  • Coordinate all volunteers at event
  • Oversee registration and pledges and follow up with MNC office
  • Assist with general Walk duties (ie. take pictures at the event, distribute t-shirts, help program run smoothly, etc.)
  • Present opening remarks on-site at the event
  • Reconciliation of on-site donations, complete deposit slip, scan payments, pledges and deposit slip, deposit slip at the bank. Send all documents to MNC.

Max Hours: 88 hours between July 8th, 2019 and September 27th, 2019
