Roles
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance and Senior Financial Officer you will provide strategic direction for all financial planning activities and services including strategies, practices and policies to enable the ministry to meet complex fiscal challenges and business plan objectives. As a key advisor you will provide expert financial and strategic advice to support informed decision making, fiscal sustainability and accountability. This role is responsible for the oversight of business planning and corporate reporting ensuring alignment between financial planning, ministry business plan, Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions and corporate reporting requirements. You will be accountable for the oversight of a multi-billion-dollar operating and capital budget, as well as restricted grants and contracts. Your excellent communication and influence will be needed to build strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners. You have experience leading high-performing teams accountable for fiscal oversight.
Qualifications
Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior financial management leadership experience. You bring a strong understanding of financial planning, oversight of large, complex budgets and strong fiduciary experience. You bring demonstrated experience leading complex financial strategy planning, as well as an ability to work effectively with stakeholders to manage diverse expectations and interests. You can demonstrate the ability to collaborate and influence change across multiple areas without direct authority.
A respected leader, you have a proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of multidisciplinary finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. A related degree is preferred; a master’s degree is desirable.
$5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 to $202,256.21 annually)
