Addiction Psychiatrist, Addiction Psychiatry Posting – CAMH

The Addictions Division at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Canada seeks an Addiction Psychiatrist to support inpatient and outpatient clinical services and the division’s academic mandate based at the Queen Street Site campus.

CAMH is Canada’s leading hospital in the area of mental health and addictions and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The University of Toronto is the largest and most prestigious research intensive university in Canada. The Department of Psychiatry has a strong tradition in the integration of clinical, teaching and research activities. Research programs have been established in the areas of early intervention and prevention, brain imaging, genetics, psychopharmacology, neuropsychology, psychotherapy, electrophysiology and service delivery, among others.

The successful candidate should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Applicants must hold an MD and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Duties include clinical evaluation and treatment in ambulatory or inpatient settings, teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and participation in research and other academic activities. The ideal candidate should have completed research training and wishes to pursue an academic career trajectory. The successful candidate will be eligible for a scientific appointment as Clinician Scientist and comply with all associated responsibilities as set out in the CAMH Scientific Appointment Policy (i.e. complete research training, protected research time with majority of research involving the clinical population at CAMH).

Compensation is in accordance with the uniform average salary of a psychiatrist in the Province of Ontario (approximately $196,000 per annum) as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience.
