Our client with their headquarters in Markham, is seeking a driven and hands-on
Financial Analyst to join their remote team. This is an exciting opportunity to bridge the gap between operations and finance, playing a crucial role in translating business information into financial reporting and helping to build robust contract management processes. Responsibilities:
- Bridge operations and finance by understanding business information and translating it into financial reporting
- Assist with monthly accruals by effectively tracking 20-25 material contracts and commitments
- Support the budget process, collaborating closely with the VP Finance
- Understand company operations (CMC, preclinical, clinical) to inform accurate accounting practices
- Communicate effectively with various departments to extract necessary financial information
- Potentially guide the company in building and implementing new contract management processes
- Collaborate with the general accountant for journal entries related to accruals
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience, with a preference for a CPA or MBA
- Biotech experience is an asset, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, especially accruals
- Proven experience in contract tracking from a financial perspective
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business operations and accounting teams
- Willingness to engage in hands-on, detailed work rather than purely strategic analysis
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
