1A Surgery offers you the opportunity to provide a safe environment and quality patient care to a varied surgical population; from general surgery, orthopedics, urology, vascular surgery and the specialties of plastic, maxilla-facial surgery, and most recently our specialty of thoracic surgery. With our growing acuity with our surgical population we have added a 6 bed surgical observation unit requiring increased observation post surgery.
1A Surgery has a strong interdisciplinary team to offer our patients and their families quality care. Come and join this great team!
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy (Master's degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.)
Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Membership in O.S.O.T. and C.A.O.T. preferred
Relevant experience in managing acute patients in a variety of programs
Demonstrates the ability to work on a dynamic, interdisciplinary team, including families and community partners
Demonstrates clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and is able to be self-directed in a fast-paced, flexible working environment
Previous experience and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with Occupational Therapist/Physical Therapist Assistants
As a dependable support in providing Occupational Therapy services is able to assume new caseloads comfortably and competently
Provides Occupational Therapy services in keeping with College guidelines and Essential Competencies for clients with deficits in areas of occupational performance
Participates in Professional Practice meetings as required
Supervises support personnel, students and volunteers as appropriate
Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation, thereby contributing to the overall vision/mandate of Occupational Therapy Services at Trillium Health Partners
