Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and food items. This role requires a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Barista will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every customer has a positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages using established recipes and standards.
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, accurately handling cash, credit card transactions, and receipts.
- Assist customers with menu selections and answer questions about products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces.
- Handle food safely according to health regulations and company policies.
- Perform food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed.
- Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods.
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Restock supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and register operations accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
