What can you expect in this role?
Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Forecasting - Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst (“SFA”) is responsible for executing the organization-wide annual planning and quarterly forecasting process and providing operational business partners and head office departments with value-added information and analysis to assist in their decision-making process. The SFA will be a key contributor in delivering accurate financial information, including:
- Preparing analysis, executive presentations, and Board level materials to support the quarterly forecasting and annual budget reviews and approvals
- Partnering with internal business teams to provide support in the preparation of their bottoms up budgets and forecasts within the system.
- Providing finance support for ad-hoc requests, regular reporting, financial analysis, and smaller scale projects
- Conducting ongoing budget to actual variance analysis to identify and understand key trends
- Self-review and peer work performed for reasonability, completeness, and accuracy
- Work to continuously enhance current processes and reporting in terms of accuracy and efficiency
What do you bring to the role?
You consistently provide a high level of service, information quality and responsiveness in a professional, courteous manner. You have a strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence. This individual should have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
- Completed university or college degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- Recognized accounting designation (CPA)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analyst role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization including senior executives
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Self-starter who can identify opportunities for improvement and execute on them
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet firm deadlines
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion / Essbase reporting tools considered an asset
- P&C Insurance experience considered an asset

Salary range: $55,800 - $102,800
