Job Description
As a Commercial Cleaner, you will be responsible for performing professional cleaning services at commercial facilities, including offices, industrial buildings, and other business locations.
Duties Include:
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors
- Vacuum carpets and area rugs
- Dust desks, furniture, phones, and all surface areas
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain kitchens and common areas
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain washrooms
- Empty garbage and recycling containers
- Remove debris and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Perform detailed cleaning tasks according to client requirements
- Perform floor care services, including:
- Strip and wax flooring
- Floor finishing
- Burnishing and machine polishing
- Operating commercial floor equipment
- Address customer questions or concerns in a professional manner
- Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and janitorial areas
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers and team members
- Arrive on time and complete scheduled shifts reliably
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct
- Follow service standards and company procedures
- Complete required paperwork and reporting accurately
- Report any safety hazards, damages, or equipment issues immediately
- Properly operate and maintain cleaning equipment
- Complete accurate clock-in and clock-out procedures
- Notify management of any scheduling or timekeeping errors
- Attend required training sessions
- Complete assigned cleaning duties independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain janitorial closets and supplies in a clean and organized condition
- Never leave a client location while clocked in without approval
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is required
- Must have experience with floor care services, including strip & wax, burnishing, floor finishing, and operating floor machines
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment is required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without constant supervision
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures
Work Environment
Cleaning services are performed in:
- Office buildings
- Commercial facilities
- Industrial buildings
- Warehouses and other business environments
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Previous commercial cleaning experience required
- Specialized floor care experience is required for this position
