Position Overview
We are seeking a flexible and dependable Relief Pharmacist to support six independently operated community pharmacies across Southern and Central Ontario.
This position is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys variety, values flexibility, and is comfortable travelling between pharmacy locations. Shifts will be offered based on operational and vacation coverage needs, and the successful candidate will be able to accept shifts that align with their availability.
Although there are no guaranteed minimum hours, coverage needs arise regularly across our locations, creating the potential for consistent and possibly full-time hours.
Candidates must be comfortable travelling throughout Southern and Central Ontario. Depending on the assigned location, travel may extend approximately 1.5 hours or more from the Greater Toronto Area.
Engagement Options
The successful candidate may be engaged as either:
- A payroll employee, with potential eligibility for the company benefits program; or
- An independent contractor under a separate written service agreement.
The appropriate arrangement will be discussed with the selected candidate and determined by the nature of the working relationship and applicable requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pharmacist coverage based on the operational needs of each location
- Accurately dispense prescriptions and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and professional standards
- Counsel patients on prescription medications, non-prescription products, and general health concerns
- Conduct medication reviews and provide eligible pharmacy services
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support safe, efficient, and patient-focused pharmacy operations
- Adapt to the workflow, systems, and procedures of each pharmacy location
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Authorized to practise as a pharmacist in Ontario
- Professional liability insurance as required by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle
- Willingness and ability to travel between pharmacy locations
- Strong clinical knowledge, communication, and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different pharmacy environments
- Previous community pharmacy experience is preferred
