We are currently looking for a Cabinet Assembler to join our shop in Richmond Hill!
Cabinet Assembler
Our employees are the heart of Irpinia Kitchens. You would be learning from some of the most Skilled Painters, Assemblers, Cabinet Makers, Door Makers and CNC Operators in Canada with plenty of room to grow. Having an eye for detail and being careful and reliable are qualities that we look for.
The Cabinet Assembler is responsible for assembling cabinets and other fine wooden furniture to detailed specifications. Cabinet Assemblers will produce quality cabinets to specification by reading drawings/blueprints and replicating past designs using hand tools and woodworking machines while having a strong knowledge of shop practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, quality control and safety equipment. Dedication to quality craftsmanship and the possession of mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates are essential in this role.

Job Duties:
- Read blueprints, drawings and schematics. Interpret BOMs.
- Build on knowledge of different wood species and wood cores.
- Gather materials required for assembly by working with the Machine Operators to check the parts required for each job.
- Selecting the proper quality of wood to meet the requirements of the finished components.
- Use shapers and moulders, jigs, templates, rulers, assortment of clamps, measuring tapes and electronic equipment to accurately measure wood for cutting and shaping.
- Cut, drill, sand or plane materials for appropriate fit as needed.
- Ensure fittings and other hardware components are correct and of good quality.
- Attach fittings, hardware, accessories, and other components to finished cabinetry.
- Construct and maintain structural woodwork, shelving, drawers, doors etc.
- Utilize hand drills, and other tools in a safe and appropriate manner for the job.
- Complete training as per your supervisor on SOPs, SSOs, WIs.
- Contribute to the productivity of the team achieving targets set by your supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or management.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of Cabinet Assembly preferred.
- Knowledge of carpentry, zero tolerance to measurements.
- Knowledge of safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Understanding of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Effective verbal, written and listening communications skills.
- Ability to read building specifications, blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates.
Work Conditions:
- Lift and carry objects 10-40 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools.
- Frequently noisy working environment.
- Overtime as required.
- Use of PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe boots required.
