An exciting opportunity exists in AHS, Edmonton Zone. Clinical Engineering is looking for a Biomedical Technologist to support the University of Alberta Hospital at various locations across the province. We have a Casual relief position available. This position is part of a very diverse team of Biomedical Technologists. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of medical equipment and will help to support patients in their own home through the Alberta Kidney Care program. The Technologist I, works under the direction of more senior technologists, this includes working independently or as part of the clinical team and is responsible for performance assurance testing and support of medical devices, ensuring compliance to CSA, manufacturers and accreditation specifications and standards. Responsibilities also include part inventory management, documentation and data entry, scheduling and managing of assigned workload.
As a Biomedical Equipment Technologist I, you will perform service and support for medical equipment to ensure safety and reliability.

Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous experience with the service and support of dialysis equipment is preferred.
