Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Provincial Digital Services Delivery, the successful candidate will support the implementation and adoption of provincial digital tools and services. The role supports Scarborough Health Network’s leadership responsibilities within the Central East Local Delivery Group (CE LDG), ensuring alignment with Ontario Health directives and provincial digital health priorities. As the lead organization, the LDG will coordinate the provincial digital health strategy by providing digital supports and services to a set of other LDG member organizations within their catchment area such as:
Scarborough Health Network
Lakeridge Health
Peterborough Regional Health Centre
Campbellford Memorial Hospital
Haliburton Highlands Health Services
Ross Memorial Hospital
Northumberland Hills Hospital
The Change Management Specialist will play a key role in the successful implementation and adoption of provincial digital services. The Change Management Specialist will work to establish/grow stakeholders’ awareness of the system benefits of provincial digital tools (such as eReferral) and will support meaningful participation to ensure the local needs of clinicians and patients are incorporated into both the process and system design. The individual selected will develop and nurture relationships with clinicians and administrative staff to understand their needs and provide support in developing, implementing, and on-going operation of the eReferral solution in their practice.
Responsibilities:
Support stakeholder outreach and engagement activities with primary care physicians and specialists, related to provincial digital tools spread and onboarding in central east region of Ontario Health east
Works closely with SHN LDG and Ontario Health East Region deployment team to apply a structured change management approach and methodology to support provincial digital services adoption
Develop and deliver structured presentations to increase awareness of provincial digital services activities and value-add to the system
Provide on-job support and formal training to primary care clinicians, specialists, and their support staff as needed
Work with the Project Manager(s) to collaborate with clinicians and organizations to identify, develop, and implement new business process strategies and objectives to incorporate provincial digital tools into their local environments
Support the Ontario Health Patients Before Paperwork program and Central East LDG to develop customized readiness, on-boarding, and learning materials for local clinicians and organizations as needed
Support management with stakeholder engagement activities, onboardings, OHT engagements, to support adoption and alignment across hospital departments.
Identify potential risks, points of resistance, performance gaps and develop appropriate mitigation activities
Support data & analysis efforts, reporting requirements, and documenting lessons learned with the project team.
Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of successes
Requirements:
Completion of post-secondary education (Degree or Diploma) in Health Sciences or Business Administration, or Health Informatics.
Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare, digital health, or information technology management roles.
Experience demonstrating project management and change management principles through the delivery of digital health assets.
Previous experience with enabling technologies and digital health an asset
Experience implementing eReferral digital tools and working with EMR’s and/or HIS is an asset (Ocean eReferral, Accuro, OscarPro, PS Suite, Epic preferred).
Proven understanding of clinical processes in primary care and specialist care
Demonstrated ability in delivering training for primary care and specialists on the use of digital health technologies
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skill
Skilled at challenging accepted ideas and practices to promote consideration of alternate approaches
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate in complex and ambiguous environments.
Thrives working in dynamic environment supporting large-scale, multi-site digital health or technology transformation initiatives.
Knowledge of the Ontario health care system and its institution
