We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our team.
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Triaging patients and taking their vitals, and acquiring patient history and other information from clients
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures
- Discussing treatment plans and estimates, and payment options with clients.
- Acquiring cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.
- Calculating medication dosages as needed, inserting IV catheters, monitoring anesthesia, & administering IV fluids.
- Administering medication as instructed (oral, IM / IV injections)
- Operating an autoclave
- Processing specimens in our in-house laboratory and submitting specimens to outside laboratories.
- Entering patients’ service charges into the computer database and keeping accurate patient records.
- Explaining patient instructions and medications to clients and sharing educational materials.
Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Ontario.
- 2 + years of hands-on experience as an RVT preferred (new grad or 1+ years of experience are welcome to still apply!)
- Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures, anesthesia, dentistry, and laboratory diagnostics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
