Job Title: Freelance Web Designer (Remote, Canada)

Job Description:
We are a software firm specializing in public participation and consulting. We are seeking an experienced Freelance Web Designer located in Canada to assist with client projects. This role will primarily focus on creating clean, accessible, and straightforward design solutions for websites built on a Drupal design system. Candidates must be comfortable working remotely and independently, with effective communication skills and a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant design experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our development team to design user-centric web interfaces within a Drupal framework (e.g., Claro, CivicTheme)
- Create accessible, clean, and simple design solutions that meet project and client requirements in figma
- Translate client needs into functional, visually appealing web designs that adhere to accessibility best practices
- Provide design files, style guides, and documentation as needed
- Maintain design consistency across projects and ensure designs align with client branding
- Contribute to front-end development (HTML/CSS)
Qualifications:
- Experience in Drupal design systems (Claro, CivicTheme, or similar)
- Proven track record in web design, with a portfolio showcasing past projects relevant to Drupal and accessible design
- Proficiency in Figma, HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility guidelines
- Experience designing for government or similar organizations is preferred
- Front-end development skills are a plus but not required
