The Security Administrator, while supporting the Security and Operations teams and in accordance with the standard policies and procedures of G+D Canada (the Security Management System) will protect personnel, property, and assets of the company, stakeholders and clients. The primary focus of this position is to monitor support and maintain physical security infrastructure, perform audits, process security screening (local and federal), new hire onboarding and terminations, complete security investigations, and supervise the guard service. Additionally, the individual in this role will promote security policies and procedures, respond to emergencies, prepare and submit reports, and perform various other duties as required. The Security Administrator will have a strong technical knowledge in major enterprise solutions for physical access control, burglar alarm and NVR platforms and will also have a technical understanding of networking. The primary location of the position is the Markham location, but the position will be expected to support the Dorval facility.

Manage the system configuration and maintenance of physical security infrastructure such as physical access control systems (PACS), burglar alarm system, CCTV and NVR systems, door locks and physical key management infrastructure.
- Lead the design and improvement of the security infrastructure for optimal efficiency, providing recommendations to the Security Manager for final approval.
- Implement solutions and coordinate with external vendors, ensuring proposals and changes are aligned with organizational strategic goals, subject to Security Manager approval.
- Provide Level 1 technical support for these systems and if Level 2 support is required, engage and manage the external vendors as required.
- Prepare purchase requisitions when new equipment is required.
- Coordinate maintenance inspections on related infrastructure in accordance with facility certification requirements.

Supervise uniformed security personnel ensuring requirements are documented and properly implemented, providing guard training and supervision as required. Maintain Post Orders and ensure all Supervisors and Guards are fully trained.

Coordinate and schedule weekly and holiday after-hours access.

Develop risk mitigation strategies that support organization strategic goals in alignment with the Security Manager

Evaluate and manage external vendors, providing proposals for effective business strategic solutions.
- Process Internal Employee Security Screening Program.
- Conduct criminal and credit screening on new hires and contractors.
- Conduct annual rescreening for current employees and contractors.
- Will be the primary contact for day to day interactions with security screening vendors

Manage government screening program (Federal and Provincial) and assist employees as needed

Serve as the Assistant Company Security Officer (ASCO) with the Government of Canada

Coordinate security onboarding and termination process for staff, contractors and guard service. Ensure that the onboarding and termination processes meet compliance requirements, are effective and efficient and are known to Human Resources and employee managers.

Manage G+D Canada’s Production Security function. Oversee daily internal audits which reinforce company security policy and monitor employee compliance with security policies and procedures (e.g. audit control logging, balancing and verification, information security controls) are in place and properly documented and reported. Ensure security requirements of customers are maintained. Ensure that employees are aware of internal control requirements and provide information as required. Collaborate with stakeholders in developing security policies and procedures and also provide recommendations to the Security Manager for final approval.
- Perform Security investigations as required (e.g. related loss and theft, employee security incidents, noncompliance to security policies), including identifying root causes, necessary remediation and any other opportunities for improvement. Complete investigation reports as well as cataloguing evidence and following up with stakeholders for remediation efforts.

Coordinate Security and Privacy Awareness Training (SAPT) and annual physical security tabletop exercises by ensuring training modules are current, expectations are clearly communicated, records are accurately maintained and that all employees receive SAPT annually.

Complete administrative tasks such as collecting, reviewing and filing guard service reports, preparing weekly statistical reports, scanning and filing audit reports.

Provide after-hours security, alarm and emergency response support

Lead crisis and emergency response efforts coordinating closely with the Security Manager to ensure that the security incidents are handled with efficiency and in alignment with company policies.
- Serve as call-in 7x24 emergency escalation resource, responding to burglar alarms and facility emergencies when escalation is required. A company mobile phone will be provided.
- Respond to alarms as needed or communicate by telephone to alarm companies, designated G+D alarm personnel, guards.

Escort and witness offsite secure destruction.

Maintain awareness and ensure compliance with relevant local, federal and international laws and other government regulations regarding security.

Travel 2 – 6 time per year to the Dorval facility.

Supporting and troubleshooting CCTV, physical access control and alarm system devices, including semi-annual device inspections and service calls

Serve as a backup to Cybersecurity Analyst
