Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ELCC Level 2 professional to support early childhood education and development. The ideal candidate will work closely with children, families, and team members to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for working with young children, including those with disabilities. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to effectively serve diverse communities. The ELCC Level 2 will play a vital role in fostering children's growth through educational activities, childcare, and support services aligned with early childhood education standards.
Duties
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to individual children's needs.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging classroom experiences.
- Assist with daily childcare routines such as feeding, diapering, and rest periods.
- Collaborate with families to ensure children’s needs are met and communicate progress effectively.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Use computer skills to document children's progress, prepare reports, and communicate with team members.
- Apply classroom experience and leadership skills to guide less experienced staff or interns when necessary.
- Manage time efficiently to balance multiple responsibilities within the classroom setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities and providing inclusive care.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings or similar environments.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Knowledge and excellence for documentation and reporting
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively within a dynamic environment.
- Ability to operate computers and relevant software for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Classroom experience that demonstrates leadership qualities and the ability to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Childcare certification or early childhood education credentials at ELCC Level 2 or equivalent are required.
