We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced automotive mechanic to join our team in the role of Head Automotive Mechanic. As the head mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles in our workshop. You will lead a team of mechanics, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of automotive mechanics.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior mechanics.
- Schedule work assignments and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Diagnostic and Repair:
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform complex repairs on various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and suspension.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Stay updated on advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques.
- Maintenance Services:
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to prolong the lifespan of vehicles and prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure that all maintenance procedures are performed accurately and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Conduct quality checks on completed repairs to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Address any customer concerns or complaints regarding vehicle repairs or services.
- Parts and Inventory Management:
- Order, receive, and organize automotive parts and supplies.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary parts for repairs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing for parts and supplies.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures in the workshop.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to understand their automotive repair needs.
- Provide clear explanations of repairs and recommendations to customers.
- Strive to exceed customer expectations by delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, with a minimum of [X years] experience.
- 310S or equivalent preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
