Nella is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our North York location to cover a Maternity Leave! We are seeking an adaptable, enthusiastic, and energetic candidate to take on a management position within our organization to develop HR strategies to support company needs and improve overall efficiency.
The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct routine functions of the Human Resources department including full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, company policies and practices, and health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing grievances or other issues
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, forecasting hiring needs, particularly at peak seasons; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement and motivation of human capital
- Ensure legal compliance through human resource management
- Report to owners and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Enforce and adhere to the codes of Nella Cutlery Toronto's policies
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Proven working experience as an HR manager, with a minimum of three years of human resource management experience
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and databases
- Experience in a privately owned small to medium-size business is an asset
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Thorough knowledge of Ontario labour and employment-related legislation
