The Lift Operations Supervisor is a direct report to the Mountain Manager. This role is dedicated to the technical maintenance and safe daily execution of all uphill transportation systems.
Winter Lift Operations & Preventative Maintenance
The Lift Operations Manager is responsible for the technical integrity and daily operation of 2 Chairlifts and 5 Carpet Lifts.
- Daily Operations: Direct the daily opening and closing of all lifts, including the execution of start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Preventative Maintenance: Under the leadership of the Mountain Manager, perform all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work with the Mountain Manager to ensure all lifts meet AEDARSA standards and are prepared for inspection by October 1 annually.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and current lift logs and incident reports, ensuring all maintenance checklists are accurately documented.
- Safety Protocols: Supervise staff to guarantee strict compliance with all safety protocols and Z98 Code requirements.
Summer Operations & Aerial Park Co-Leadership
During the off-season, this role transitions to summer maintenance and co-leading the Aerial Park facility.
- Summer Maintenance: Assist the Mountain Manager with comprehensive summer maintenance on all equipment to ensure winter readiness.
- Aerial Park Co-Leadership: Act as one of the Aerial Park Leads during summer operations, working closely with the Mountain Manager and Snow Ops Manager.
- Certification: Complete and annually maintain Aerial Park certification through ACCT Level One training.
- Safety & Upkeep: Perform ongoing Aerial Park safety checks and perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks.
Leadership & Emergency Response
- Staff Supervision: Assist with scheduling for all relevant departments.
- Leadership Proxy: Act as the Mountain Manager in his absence for all lift related discussions, serving as the lead on-hill authority for decision-making.
- Training Assistance: Support the Mountain Manager in providing practical, hands-on training for staff regarding lift operations and equipment safety.
- Evacuation Lead: Serve as a lead in the safe evacuation of the public during a Chairlift Evacuation and coordinate the response with the Evacuation Team.
Requirements
- Certification: Must possess a Class B or C Ski Lift Mechanic accreditation OR have completed the Lift 150, Lift 151 Training and be a certified Millwright with a minimum of 3 years of Chairlift Maintenance Experience. .
- Specialized Safety: Maintain current Fall Arrest and Rope Rescue certifications (including rescue of incapacitated persons).
- Aerial Park: Ability to obtain and maintain ACCT Level One certification.
- Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure, and computer proficiency for reporting.
Work Conditions
- Working at Heights: Regularly required to work at significant heights for lift and Aerial Park maintenance.
- Physicality: Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Schedule: High flexibility required; hours average 44 hours per week based on seasonal and operational needs.
- Environment: Work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay: $68,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
