About HF Care
HF Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to championing culturally rooted mental healthcare for people from East and Southeast Asian communities in the Greater Toronto Area. Our work advances toward a vision of connected communities where every person can live their fullest, most meaningful life. Everything we do is grounded in our values—Belonging, Dignity, Courage, Hope, and Relations—including how we support the people who make our mission possible.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a self-motivated relationship-driven fundraising professional to join our dynamic team.
Under the direction of the Vice President, External Relations, the Development Officer will play a central part in advancing HF Care and HF Care Foundation’s mass engagement strategy for annual, monthly, and mid-level donors. You will be responsible for accelerating annual revenue baselines, expanding our recurring monthly giving community, proactively identifying and soliciting small-to-medium level donors ($1,000–$5,000), and supporting key community-driven third-party fundraisers and special events.
Collaborating closely with internal teams (such as communications and stewardship) and volunteer leadership committees, you will design segmented, donor-centric content and pathways that move supporters seamlessly through the pipeline, while keeping community care and cultural competency at the center of your approach.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Annual & Monthly Giving Management
- Direct Response Strategy: Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel annual giving campaigns (email, social media, web, direct mail, etc). Tailor campaigns to leverage key cultural moments, year-end giving, and seasonal mental health awareness periods.
- Monthly Giving Portfolio: Own the strategy to acquire, retain, and upgrade recurring donors. Design creative stewardship touchpoints to elevate the lifetime value of monthly supporters.
- Data-Driven Performance Evaluation: Monitor and analyze campaign metrics and donor trends. Use database insights to evaluate performance, adjusting segmentations and mass engagement outreach to maximize donor experience and revenue growth.
2. Donor Solicitation
- Frontline Relationship Management: Actively manage a portfolio of individual and small-business donors capable of giving $1,000 to $5,000 annually.
- Active Discovery & Solicitation: Conduct discovery calls and 1:1 meetings to uncover donor motivations, moving prospective supporters through the pipeline from general event attendees to dedicated annual donors.
- Pipeline Coordination: Identify high-potential annual donors showing signs of deep affinity and partner with senior leadership to seamlessly transition them into the Major Gifts pipeline.
3. Third-Party Fundraisers & Special Events
- Community Advocate Support: Serve as the primary, high-touch liaison for independent community organizers, businesses, and associations hosting third party fundraising events in support of HF Care.
- Peer-to-Peer Mobilization: Co-manage and drive participant recruitment, toolkits, and fundraising momentum for signature community-wide campaigns, such as the Toronto Waterfront Marathon charity challenge.
- Collaborative Special Events Execution: Partner closely with a dynamic internal team and HF Care Foundation’s volunteer leadership committees to support the execution and modernization of signature, large-scale fundraising events—including the annual HF Care Gala and high-profile community initiatives.
4. Donor Administration, Tracking & Stewardship
- Impact Accountability: Prepare personal thank-you letters, impact updates, and creative reports ensuring all mid-level and monthly donors receive personalized gratitude in a timely manner.
- System Integrity: Maintain meticulous notes, interaction logs, and pipeline stages within the donor database (CRM) to support accurate forecasting and organizational memory.
- Other duties as assigned.
