Bilingual Lead Educator/Instructor Therapist

Position Summary:

Lead educators have excellent teaching and leadership skills. They draw upon their teaching experience to serve as expert resources, mentors or counselors for new and developing educators.

Lead educators must be dedicated to the implementations of the therapy program and able to provide constructive criticism and helpful solutions to other educators. They should possess good observational and analytical skills and be able to offer fresh, creative solutions in difficult situations.

Work performed

  • Providing 1 on 1 or group therapy with children with autism according to the program designed by the treatment team
  • Maintaining and rotating necessary materials to implement the program
  • Maintaining client binder
  • Maintaining therapy rooms and materials needed to implement the program
  • Completing weekly activity reports
  • Completing weekly session preparations
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of therapy programs
  • Acting as a liaison between families and members of the treatment team
  • Providing some functional supervision and directions to educators
  • Attend staff meeting and training sessions
  • Assists Director of programming, Team Coordinator or educators with other related duties as per needed.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in ongoing education opportunities such as workshops or online certifications

Supervision received

Supervised by the Clinical Supervisor, Director of programming and Team Coordinator

Required education and experience

  • Possess a diploma in Science and Autism or a related field (Specialized education, Early Childhood education or social work)
  • Posses 2-3 years of experience in direct intervention with children with Autism
  • Demonstrate fidelity in Early Start Denver Model or related intervention approach

Job requirement

  • Good leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility with scheduling and assigned task
  • Willingness to participate and maintain ongoing education in the field of autism and behavioural intervention
  • Valid drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle
  • Valid police record check for the vulnerable sector
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Computer literacy

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 to $25.00 /hour
