Position Summary
The Finance Administrator/Bookkeeper provides essential financial support to Serpent River First Nation Limited Partnership(SRFN LP) businesses, including the Trading Post, Agawa Crafts, Canco Gas & Convenience, and the Business Center. This role involves managing accounting operations, ensuring financial viability, and providing strategic financial advice to the General Manager and both the SRFN LP Board of Directors and Agawa LP Board of Directors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Management: Oversee accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and statutory regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and facilitate the fiscal year-end and audit processes.
- Operational Support: Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, government remittances, and bank reconciliations.
- Strategic Advisory: Advise the General Manager and Boards on financial matters, budgeting, loan renewals, and purchasing procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Assess and streamline financial processes, automating workflows where possible to improve efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Accounting designation or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior financial role, ideally within a First Nation or public sector environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online experience is an asset) and Microsoft 365.
- Strong organizational, communication, and team-collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of federal/provincial regulations related to First Nation operations.

- Salary: $40,000-$65,000 based on experience
- 35-hour work week.
