Position Summary:
As an IT Specialist at Ker-Train, you will play a crucial role in managing and securing our Windows-based network environment. You will be responsible for maintaining NIST 800-171 controls, ensuring our IT systems are secure, compliant, and functioning optimally.
Job responsibilities include:
- NIST 800-171 Controls Management: Manage and refine technical controls in line with NIST 800-171 requirements to ensure compliance.
- Application Whitelisting: Maintain, and deploy application whitelisting policies to prevent unauthorized software from running on our network.
- Multifactor Authentication (MFA): Manage MFA solutions to enhance security for user accounts and access.
- Application Deployment: Oversee the deployment of applications and software updates, ensuring they are executed efficiently and securely.
- Endpoint Management: Manage and secure endpoints across our Windows-based network, including troubleshooting, patch management, and system optimization.
- Security Monitoring: Monitor network and system activities to detect and respond to potential security threats.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, changes, and compliance status. Provide regular reports on security and compliance posture.
- User Support: Provide technical support and training to end users regarding security best practices and system use.
Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT roles with a focus on security and compliance, specifically with NIST 800-171 controls.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in application whitelisting, MFA, application deployment, and endpoint management in a Windows-based environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of NIST 800-171 requirements, Windows operating systems, and common security practices.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex technical issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
