POSITION SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Specialist - Housing Tenant Relations primarily acts as the direct liaison between the
Elders and the Siksika Housing Department. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring
that Elders and tenant concerns, needs, and responsibilities are addressed and properly communicated
between all involved parties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Manages and resolve disputes, including the action item tracking and reporting requirements;
2. Actively seek resolution to all disputes being handled and determine the priority level of each dispute;
3. Establishes working relations with other departments/organizations that may provide assistance;
4. Ensure that Elders and tenant concerns, needs and responsibilities are appropriately addressed;
5. Act on behalf of the public, and proactively be a voice for the public;
6. Travel is necessary to conduct home visits as needed;
7. Act as liaison between housing management and occupants regarding repairs both Major and Minor
8. 14. Ensure all tenants' documents, forms and other correspondence are completed and submitted in a
timely manner e.g. Home visit reports;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal, human relations and communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent oral, written, analytical and mathematical skills
- Understanding of the housing resolution dispute process
- Knowledge in client services and administration, Siksika Housing Programs, CMHC Housing Programs,
and Property Management
- Public relations or mediation knowledge
- Familiarity with Microsoft Applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Awareness and acknowledgement of always maintaining strict confidentiality
- Demonstrate reliability and accountability in all actions and tasks assigned
Education and Experience
Business Administration Certificate
A minimum of 3 years of experience working in Property Management
Professional Designation/Certification/Licenses:
Current Satisfactory Criminal Records / Background Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid Calss 5 Drivers License and Current One Year Driver’s Abstract
Other:
Requires general knowledge of the Siksika Nation culture and some ability to communicate in the Siksika language.
