Our East York location is looking for a hands-on, operations-focused Assistant General Manager / Production Manager to support daily shop execution, production flow, customer experience, and overall repair coordination.
This is a great opportunity for someone with collision repair knowledge who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day movement of vehicles, working closely with technicians, parts, customers, vendors, and insurance partners. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the location improve workflow, reduce delays, maintain repair quality, and support the General Manager in running an efficient and organized operation.
Role Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant General Manager / Production Manager to join our East York team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting production scheduling, repair planning, parts coordination, quality control, customer communication, file management, and overall shop workflow.
The Assistant General Manager / Production Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Parts Manager, CSR/office staff, technicians, vendors, sublet providers, and insurance partners to ensure repairs move through the shop efficiently from intake to delivery. This role requires strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills, along with the ability to identify bottlenecks and help keep the team aligned on repair priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production scheduling and ensure vehicles are assigned to the appropriate departments
- Monitor vehicles throughout the repair process from intake, repair planning, production, QC, and final delivery
- Review and update repair statuses in Bodyshop Connect, Mitchell, Qapter, Audatex, Progi Sync, and other required systems
- Support repair planning for drivable and non-drivable vehicles, including photos, estimates, supplements, notes, and documentation
- Coordinate with the General Manager, Parts Manager, technicians, and office team to ensure repairs are moving efficiently
- Assist with reviewing estimates, approvals, supplements, insurance requirements, and final documentation
- Work with the Parts Manager to confirm parts availability, assist with parts coordination, mirror matching, returns, and credit memo follow-up
- Coordinate sublet repairs, vendor communication, tow truck coordination, and other operational shop needs
- Identify production delays, parts issues, customer concerns, technician capacity challenges, or workflow bottlenecks and escalate as needed
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed repairs prior to delivery
- Verify fit, finish, cleanliness, final invoices, photos, supplements, betterment charges, taxes, and required documentation before vehicle handoff
- Assist with customer communication, including repair updates, appointment scheduling, deductible confirmation, rental coordination, pickup readiness, and delivery support
- Support the CSR, Parts Manager, technicians, and General Manager during high-volume periods or escalations
- Ensure repair files are accurate, balanced, complete, and ready for final review, payment processing, and closure
- Help maintain compliance with Simplicity Car Care SOPs, insurance partner requirements, health and safety standards, and environmental policies
- Assist with coaching, training, and supporting team members to improve workflow, efficiency, and customer experience
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement stronger shop procedures
What You Offer:
- Previous experience in collision repair, auto body production, estimating, repair planning, or shop operations
- Strong understanding of the collision repair process, including intake, estimating, supplements, parts, production, QC, and delivery
- Experience using systems such as Mitchell, Audatex, Qapter, Bodyshop Connect, Progi Sync, or similar platforms is considered an asset
- Ability to manage multiple repair files, priorities, deadlines, and moving parts in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work professionally with customers, technicians, vendors, insurance partners, and internal team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to identify issues, follow up consistently, and help remove operational roadblocks

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
