Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and personable Karaoke Host/Hostess for Sundays and Tuesdays as required at Tavern on Whyte to create a lively and engaging entertainment experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for music and entertainment, and the ability to foster a fun and welcoming atmosphere. This role involves managing karaoke sessions, interacting with guests, and ensuring everyone has an enjoyable time in a vibrant venue setting.
Previous knowledge of Compuhost and Songbooks Online software is an asset but not require as we supply training if required for the right applicant.
Duties
- Welcome guests and assist with song selections to ensure smooth karaoke sessions
- Manage the flow of the karaoke program, including announcing performers and encouraging participation
- Maintain a lively and positive environment by engaging with guests and promoting interaction
- Operate sound equipment, microphones, and music playlists efficiently
- Enforce venue policies related to conduct and safety during events
- Assist in setting up and breaking down karaoke equipment before and after events
- Handle guest inquiries professionally and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the venue remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, entertainment, or customer service is preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Basic knowledge of sound equipment and music management systems is a plus
- Outgoing personality with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for entertainment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or special events as needed
- Must be at least 18 years old or older
