JBS Equipment is a rapidly growing manufacturing company located in Mission, BC, providing market-leading equipment solutions to the agriculture industry worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembler, preferably red seal journeyman level – automotive, heavy duty, or equivalent. You must have Research and Development experience to troubleshoot, optimize, and refine our assembly processes for cutting-edge products. This is a hands-on position where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and abilities on and off the tools.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineering and production to evaluate and improve designs, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
- Document and submit written feedback to Engineering and the rest of the R&D Team to pass on valuable insights and feedback that inform and enhance product design and process improvements.
- Lead the assembly and finishing of new product designs based on prototype drawings released by engineering.
- Lead the troubleshooting and repairing of equipment for service and warranty jobs.
- Actively engage in brainstorming and problem-solving to address design challenges.
- Assess how designs can be effectively assembled and identify practical solutions to make them work in real-world applications.
- Analyze assembly drawings and schematics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and execute plans to resolve issues, ensuring smooth production flow.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, catching all potential quality issues before shipment.
- Foster a positive team environment, providing clear work instructions and mentoring to enhance the skills of assembly team members.
- Stay on schedule through appropriate manpower planning, supervision, and training
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Assembler in a research and development or similar environment.
- Red seal journeyman level – automotive, heavy duty, or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in training and developing team members to elevate overall department
- Able to prioritize work, set realistic deadlines for self and others within the team.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem solving proactively.
