Utilizing computerized systems and applications, the Health Information Mgmt Professional - Data Integrity is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the Enterprise Master Person Index (EMPI). The Data Integrity Specialist performs a variety of health records and clinical data related duties for multi-site operations in VIHA, such as identifying, investigating and resolving linkages, overlays, duplicates and data integrity issues related to client identification both electronically and within the paper record. The position will contribute to the overall management of client identification within the evolving Electronic Health Record by coordinating the data remediation activities in accordance with established standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Education, Training And Experience
Graduate of an approved Health Information Management Professional program. Certification with the Canadian College of Health Records Administrators at the Certificant Level (CCHRA(C). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Health Information Management Association. Eligible for membership in the Health Records Association of British Columbia (HRABC)Knowledge of and experience with Admission-Discharge-Transfer and Health Records Systems. Knowledge and experience with Windows-based PC environment. Familiarity and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and e-mail. Recent related experience in the health information management field, including working experience with records management practices or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Travel is a requirement of this position. Travel arrangements must meet the requirements of the program.
